Say Hello to the Ginseng Crop of 1999

Please stop by our web site at www.ginseng-seed.com and take a look at the new pictures of the '99 Ginseng Crop.  I have posted new pictures on every page, they are at the bottoms of the pages, because of loading time.  Take the time to read some of the text while the pictures load, I think you will agree that they are worth the wait.

"Glacial Gold" Ginseng Seeds

Ginseng is a unisexual plant, and when trying to develop a top quality seed, the rules are a little different.  The problem is that the majority of the ginseng seeds on the market are somewhat inbred.  The growers have been replanting their own seeds for too many years.  The way to overcome this problem is to cross breed several different lots of seeds together. This will create a new strain of Ginseng seeds.  It is the object of Glacial Ginseng Company to gather the very best seed available, by going right to the growers and seeing the plants that they come from.   The Ginseng seeds that are produced from these select crossbreeds will be known as "Glacial Gold" Ginseng seeds and should prove to be just outstanding plants.

Ginseng Export Market for 1999

This is not a good year to think about the root export market, something about bombing somebody's embassy.  No, this would be a good year to think about harvesting Ginseng Seeds.  Glacial Ginseng Co. will be buying woods grown and wild ginseng seeds again this fall.  Please send us an email at seed@ginseng-seed.com for current prices.

I am seeing some stronger interest in the domestic market.   The Herbal industry has been going through some major changes, due to the new self regulating rules that the major manufacturers are applying.  The ginsitis levels of the Ginseng capsules is going to be on the label.  This is starting to create a demand for Woods Grown Ginseng, which usually has ginsitis levels of 18% or more, versus field cultivated Ginseng with 4 to 5% levels

Early Buying For Fall Planting

I have just returned from a seed buying trip and I have some really outstanding Ginseng Seeds available right now.  These seeds are crossed with third generation sonic bloom woods grown ginseng seeds.  If you order now, they will be at last spring's prices.  Order now, somebody has been buying up a lot of seeds this spring and I am sure that the price is going to rise.
